Baseball Game Preview: Franklin County Seahawks vs. Blountstown Tigers

The Franklin County Seahawks will take on the Blountstown Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Franklin County is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Port St. Joe just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 13-3 to the Tiger Sharks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Seahawks have suffered since February 12th.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Blountstown's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against Liberty County, falling 14-3.

Blountstown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Terrell Williams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Franklin County's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Blountstown, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Franklin County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blountstown struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Franklin County couldn't quite get it done against Blountstown when the teams last played back in March as they fell 8-5. Can the Seahawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
