Baseball Recap: Mart Comes Up Short

Mart kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Wortham Bulldogs by a score of 8-6. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Wortham's record now sits at 3-4.

Coming up, Mart will be playing in front of their home fans against Bruceville-Eddy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wortham, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Dawson at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Dawson's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Wortham's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
