Softball Recap: Sidwell Friends Sets Scoring Season-High Against Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Flint Hill, Sidwell Friends was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart Gators 15-2. The Quakers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Elisa Tsao made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Sidwell Friends got a massive performance out of Isabela Alves, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those stolen bases were Alves' first of the season. Nina Keefe was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and two runs.

Sidwell Friends' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Sidwell Friends has already played their next contest, an 8-7 victory against Georgetown Visitation Prep on the 24th. Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
