Soccer Game Preview: Carroll County vs. Abingdon

The Carroll County Cavaliers will venture away from home to face off against the Abingdon Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Carroll County sitting on four straight wins and Abingdon on 12.

Carroll County's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out James River 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Carroll County were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Abingdon was able to grind out a solid victory over Gate City on Thursday, taking the game 2-0. Abingdon's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matches.

Elizabeth Nichols and Annsley Trivette scored both of Abingdon's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 27 goals.

Carroll County's win bumped their record up to 11-4-1. As for Abingdon, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
