Softball Game Preview: Westbrook Knights vs. Old Lyme Wildcats

Westbrook hasn't had much luck against Old Lyme recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Knights will square off against the Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. Westbrook will be strutting in after a win while Old Lyme will be coming in after a loss.

Westbrook is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Whitney RVT with a sharp 20-4 victory on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Old Lyme came up short against Coginchaug Regional on Friday and fell 7-2. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Old Lyme's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Westbrook, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-7.

Westbrook couldn't quite get it done against Old Lyme when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
