The Waterbury Career Academy Spartans waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 71-55 win over Crosby. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

When it comes to explaining why Crosby lost, one person who can't be blamed is Curtis Ellis. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jeydan Benjamin, who scored seven points along with eight assists.

Waterbury Career Academy pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.6 points per game. As for Crosby, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.

Waterbury Career Academy will be playing at home against Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Cross has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 608 points over their last eight games. As for Crosby, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
