Basketball Recap: Morning Star Academy Takes a Loss

Morning Star Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Monday. They were beaten by the Faith Christian Falcons 56-14. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost eight in a row.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Yowell, who posted five points and six boards.

It was another big night for Isaiah Schuler, who went 9-for-19 to rack up 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Faith Christian. That makes it four consecutive games in which Schuler has scored at least a third of Faith Christian's points. Carson Bivins was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 13 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Morning Star Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Faith Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-2.

Morning Star Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-39 win against Galesburg Christian on the 7th. As for Faith Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-33 victory against Tri-State Christian on the 4th.
