Volleyball Game Preview: Hatley Tigers vs. Amory Panthers

The Hatley Tigers will face off against the Amory Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hatley managed to slip by Smithville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tigers came up short against the Seminoles on Monday, falling 3-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

While Hatley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Smithville's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-22, 28-26.

Meanwhile, Amory hadn't done well against New Hope recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Panthers have posted against the Trojans since August 17, 2017.

One reason for the win was Amory's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-19.

Hatley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Amory, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Hatley might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Amory in their previous matchup back in August of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
