Basketball Game Preview: Hancock Hawks vs. Pascagoula Panthers

The Hancock Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Pascagoula Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pascagoula will be up against a hot Hancock team: the squad just extended their winning streak to eight. Hancock breezed by Picayune to the tune of 59-29 on Friday. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Maroon Tide are ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pascagoula). They claimed a resounding 61-16 victory over George County. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Pascagoula has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Hancock, they pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Hancock was able to grind out a solid victory over Pascagoula in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 48-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hancock since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
