The Covenant Christian Cougars will square off against the Bishop Gorman Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Covenant Christian challenged Pantego Christian last Friday. Covenant Christian took down Pantego Christian 51-37.

It was another big night for Aaron Turner, who went 8-for-20 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and five steals. He has become a key player for Covenant Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three steals, but 6-11 otherwise. Lucas Wallace was another key player, putting up ten points.
Covenant Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bishop Gorman, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Dallas Christian by a score of 64-57 on Tuesday. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while the Chargers are ranked 773rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bishop Gorman's win came from a few key players Covenant Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carlin Ifeadi, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 18 points and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Beau Bender, who posted 15 points and five steals.
Bishop Gorman pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Covenant Christian, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Covenant Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Bishop Gorman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything went Covenant Christian's way against Bishop Gorman in their previous matchup back in February of 2016, as Covenant Christian made off with a 61-35 win.
