Baseball Recap: Hazlehurst Comes Up Short

Hazlehurst was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 12-7 to the Provine Rams. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 15-8.

Bobby Moore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Quinton Washington, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Hazlehurst's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17-1. As for Provine, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-10.

Coming up, Hazlehurst will take on Port Gibson at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Waves have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Provine, they will face off against Jim Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
