Softball Recap: Utica Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Utica's offense. They lost 10-0 to the St. Clair Saints on Tuesday. The match marked the first time this year in which the Chieftains were not able to get on the board.

Utica's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for St. Clair, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2-2 record this season.

Utica will square off against Sterling Heights Stevenson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Chieftains are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for St. Clair, they will challenge Marysville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.77 runs per game on average), something the Saints will no doubt try to take advantage of.
