Softball Recap: Hixson Takes a Loss

Hixson lost against Soddy Daisy on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Hixson might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-3 to Soddy Daisy, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hixson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brantley Bruggink, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Hixson's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Soddy Daisy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season.

Hixson will square off against East Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Ridge has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.6 runs per game on average), something Hixson will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Soddy Daisy, they will take on Floyd Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
