Baseball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Dundalk hit Franklin with a 12-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians came up short against the Owls, falling 13-6. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Jacob Wise and Ryan Hartman did some serious damage despite the final result: Wise got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Hartman got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Hartman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Franklin and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Dundalk, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-3.

Looking ahead, Franklin will square off against Patapsco at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dundalk, they will welcome Randallstown at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Owls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
