Basketball Game Preview: Yucaipa Thunderbirds vs. Valley View Eagles + How To Watch

The Yucaipa Thunderbirds will challenge the Valley View Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley View took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Yucaipa, who comes in off a win.

Yucaipa is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out JW North 52-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunderbirds have posted since January 16th.

Yucaipa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Levi Vaughan, who posted eight points. Those eight points gave Vaughan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Rundles, who scored nine points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Valley View ended up a good deal behind Corona on Wednesday and lost 56-40. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Yucaipa will have to keep a close watch on Davion Moore and Cole McFarland, a pair of players who had a big impact on Valley View's prior game. Moore went 6-for-11 to rack up 14 points, while McFarland put up five points and three steals.

Yucaipa might still be hurting after the 86-65 defeat they got from Valley View when the teams last played back in November of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Thunderbirds were down 48-28.
