Volleyball Recap: Alyna Smith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Christian Family Academy over Challenger

Christian Family Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Challenger Firebirds, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Firebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-11, 25-16.

Several Fire players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alyna Smith, who had five kills and two aces.

Christian Family Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Challenger, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Christian Family Academy has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy on the 7th. Challenger does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
