Baseball Game Preview: Creekview Mustangs vs. Reedy Lions

The Creekview Mustangs will square off against the Reedy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Creekview will be strutting in after a victory while Reedy will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, Creekview was able to grind out a solid win over Hillcrest, taking the game 8-3.

Jeff Eckerle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Creekview is 3-1-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 9-11-2 otherwise. Eckerle was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Eckerle wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landen Foster, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Foster has posted since back in March.

Creekview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 4-1-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Reedy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Wakeland. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Reedy's loss dropped their record down to 14-11-2. As for Creekview, the victory got them back to even at 12-12-3.

Creekview suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Reedy in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
