It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Scotland had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Terry Sanford Bulldogs by a score of 49-40. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Fighting Scots considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Mike McLean had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 276 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 33 receiving yards. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 56 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Scotland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 294 rushing yards. They are a perfect 7-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Terry Sanford's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Washington, who rushed for 224 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, Washington is now averaging an impressive 103.8 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Jacob Moore, who threw for 200 yards and three TDs.

Scotland has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.3 points over those games. As for Terry Sanford, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Coming up, Scotland will square off against Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Scots will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. Terry Sanford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
