Football Recap: Ameche Thompson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mount Tabor over Lake Norman + How To Watch

Mount Tabor played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 48-28 to the Lake Norman Wildcats. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ameche Thompson, who picked up 95 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jock Hunder, who gained 148 total yards and a touchdown.

Even if they lost, Mount Tabor's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Trey Cutler was the leader with two.

Allen Jones had a dynamite game For Lake Norman., rushing for 139 yards and four scores on only nine carries. Jones was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. Kaden Craft was another key player, throwing for 166 yards and one TD on only 15 passes.

Mount Tabor's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lake Norman, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Mount Tabor is taking a road trip to face off against Page at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Norman, they will host West Cabarrus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
