Volleyball Recap: Marian Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Elkhorn North

Marian faced Elkhorn North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Crusaders took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Fallyn O'Connell paced Marian's offense, picking up seven kills. O'Connell got some help from Addy Janke and her 16 assists. O'Connell was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Marian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-5 record this season. As for Elkhorn North, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.
