Soccer Recap: Golden Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Exeter last Saturday, Golden Valley came back down to earth. The Golden Valley Bulldogs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Patriots on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Patriots are ranked 89th).

Golden Valley dropped their record down to 2-4-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Liberty, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Golden Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santiago at 11:00 a.m. on January 3, 2025. Santiago's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Liberty, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Fillmore at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
