Baseball Recap: Christian Academy of Knoxville Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Christian Academy of Knoxville barely beat Middle Tennessee Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 9-1 win on Saturday. Considering the Warriors have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Christian Academy of Knoxville got a great performance from Parker Jones as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Joey Sulish and Wyatt Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Sulish scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Wyatt scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Sulish has posted since back in March. Tyler McCormick also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Christian Academy of Knoxville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Christian Academy of Knoxville will host Noblesville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against The Webb School at 6:30 p.m.
