Softball Preview: Bronson Eagles vs. North Marion Colts

The Bronson Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the North Marion Colts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bronson is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Bronson suffered a rough 23-6 loss at the hands of Bell. Bronson has struggled against Bell recently, as their match on Monday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Michaela Phillips was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Brystal Howard, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Bronson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bell struck out six times.

Meanwhile, North Marion came into Friday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over Tavares on Friday.

She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and eight unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). Wilson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, North Marion got a massive performance out of Lili Bedford, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, a triple, and a run. Avree McCubbin was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Bronson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for North Marion, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
