Matanzas is a perfect 10-0 against Flagler Palm Coast since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Matanzas took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Father Lopez with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Pirates not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0).
Matanzas not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Father Lopez between 16 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19, 25-16.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Matanzas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Analise Smith, who had 11 assists and seven digs. That's the most digs Smith has posted over her last four matchups.
Meanwhile, Flagler Palm Coast unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Spruce Creek. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since August 21st.
While Flagler Palm Coast was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 27-25, 25-19.
Matanzas pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Flagler Palm Coast, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Matanzas skirted past Flagler Palm Coast 3-2 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Bulldogs' Kaitlyn Ebding, who had 31 digs and five aces.
