Baseball Recap: Las Animas Starts Season with Victory Against Wiley

Las Animas took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Wiley Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Braydon Ortiz was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Servaes, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Wiley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Las Animas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-0 victory against Centauri on the 21st. As for Wiley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 23-4 defeat against Hoehne on the 21st.
