Softball Game Preview: Glasgow Scotties vs. Dawson County Red Devils

The Glasgow Scotties are taking a road trip to take on the Dawson County Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Glasgow is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Custer County, who was ranked 24th at the time (Glasgow was ranked 12th). The Scotties blew past the Cowboys 31-14 on Friday. The Scotties might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Dawson County had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over Sidney on Tuesday.

Jaelin Jimison was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Jimison was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashley Eaton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Emilie Baker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Dawson County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sidney struck out ten times.

Glasgow now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Dawson County, their record is now 4-6.

Glasgow took their win against Dawson County in their previous meeting on April 1st by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scotties since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
