Softball Recap: Gadsden Comes Up Short

Gadsden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 14-4 to the Centennial Hawks. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Krystal Lucero and Isabel Pinon did some serious damage despite the final result: Lucero went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Pinon went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brianna Flores, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Gadsden's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Centennial, their win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0.

While Gadsden had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
