Pendleton Heights strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against the New Castle Trojans as they made off with a 17-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 24-0 last Tuesday.

Brandt Gray made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Gray was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Colin Axel-Adams was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Ryland Montgomery also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Pendleton Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Castle only posted an OBP of .292.

Pendleton Heights' record now sits at 4-0. As for New Castle, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Pendleton Heights will venture away from home to take on Hamilton Southeastern at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for New Castle, they will welcome Lawrence Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
