Softball Game Preview: Wapsie Valley Warriors vs. Jesup J-Hawks

Wapsie Valley is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Jesup J-Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Wapsie Valley is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Wapsie Valley will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Columbus, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors came out on top against the Sailors by a score of 7-4 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Jesup got themselves on the board against Janesville on Saturday, but Janesville never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 19-0 victory. The J-Hawks haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Jesup pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Wapsie Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Wapsie Valley beat Jesup 10-6 in their previous matchup back in June of 2024. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the J-Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
