Softball Recap: Beaver Local Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

The matchup between Beaver Local and United on Thursday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Beavers were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Golden Eagles. Winning may never get old, but the Beavers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ciara Call, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Congrove, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Beaver Local was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Beaver Local's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for United, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Beaver Local will challenge East Liverpool at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Beavers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for United, they will face off against Poland Seminary at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
