Soccer Recap: Pioneer Takes a Loss

Pioneer was the 2-1 winner over Willow Glen when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Pioneer Mustangs fell just short of the Willow Glen Rams by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Considering the last time the Mustangs couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

This is the second loss in a row for Pioneer and nudges their season record down to 4-5-1. As for Willow Glen, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6-2.

Pioneer will challenge Branham at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Pioneer's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Willow Glen, they will be playing at home against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Willow Glen's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
