Baseball Recap: Georgetown Day Takes a Loss

Georgetown Day extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Potomac School Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mighty Hoppers have suffered since March 18, 2025.

Lawson Massey was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Josh Altschuler also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

As for Potomac School, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.25 runs across that stretch.

On Potomac School's side, Luke Paris looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Paris has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aidan Kaminski was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Doster, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

While Georgetown Day had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
