Baseball Recap: Marshwood Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Marshwood had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Windham on Tuesday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Eagles. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Tyler Hussey and Ronan Garrett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hussey struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Garrett tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hussey has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Hussey went 1-for-2 with two runs, while Garrett went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Garrett a new career-high.

In other batting news, Liam Tiernan was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Gennaro, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Marshwood's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Windham, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Marshwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against Falmouth on the 15th. As for Windham, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Scarborough on the 15th.
