Flag Football Recap: Brooklyn Griffin and Roxi Singer Pace Marana Defense + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Marana couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Hamilton Huskies on Wednesday, falling 35-14. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this game were averaging 7.83 points allowed.

Although Marana took the loss, they still got scores from Malaysia Roebuck and Isabella Garcia.

Marana didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brooklyn Griffin and Roxi Singer.

Hamilton found their leader in sophomore Marlie Phillips, who threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score. Phillips is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in each of the last 24 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Markiah Riley, who picked up 67 receiving yards and one TD.

Marana's loss dropped their record down to 17-1. As for Hamilton, their win bumped their record up to 20-0.

Marana does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hamilton has already played their next matchup (against Red Mountain), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
