Preview: TMI-Episcopal Panthers vs. South Garland Titans
The TMI-Episcopal Panthers are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the South Garland Titans at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Thursday, TMI-Episcopal might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Martin County an easy 66-46 win. While losing is never fun, TMI-Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 397th in Texas, while Martin County is ranked 96th in Kentucky).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to South Garland, who are still winless after their 12th game. They were dealt a 100-48 defeat at the hands of Sachse on Tuesday. South Garland has not had much luck with Sachse recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, South Garland saw an underclassman step up: Elijah Darden scored 20 points. Darden scored a full 41.7% of South Garland's points, the 12th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Medford Body was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
TMI-Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for South Garland, they bumped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
