Football Game Preview: Gresham Gophers vs. La Salle Falcons + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Liam Arnold and Sterling Dressel are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Gresham Gophers will take on the La Salle Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gresham is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

On Friday, Gresham earned a 14-7 victory over Centennial.

Avery Lo was a one-man wrecking crew as he picked up 98 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. That's the most receiving yards he has posted since back in September of 2024.

Gresham didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lo and Trey Darling.

Meanwhile, La Salle was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 27-22 to Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gresham will have to contain Sean Fennell as he made an impact in La Salle's last game. He rushed for 105 yards and one TD.

Even if they lost, La Salle's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Tony Luna, Dom Delucia, and Jack Schweitzer, who each picked up one sack apiece.

La Salle's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Gresham, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Gresham has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 175.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like La Salle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 193.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
