Volleyball Recap: West Cabarrus Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Olympic last Thursday, West Cabarrus came back down to earth. The Wolverines came up short against the Cox Mill Chargers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While West Cabarrus was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Cox Mill's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-18.

Despite the loss, West Cabarrus still got an impressive performance from Madison McIntyre, who had 16 digs, seven kills, and three aces. McIntyre has been hot recently, having posted three or more aces the last three times she's played.

Cox Mill had a senior duo take command as Romey Gaeta had 14 assists and six digs and Isa Gaeta had six digs and four aces. Amali Archie also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

West Cabarrus now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cox Mill, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

West Cabarrus has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Central Cabarrus on the 11th. As for Cox Mill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against A.L. Brown on the 11th.
