Softball Recap: Tumwater Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Mark Morris

Tumwater faced Mark Morris in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Thunderbirds lost 14-1 to the Monarchs. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Thunderbirds, who until this matchup were averaging 3.04 runs allowed.

Tumwater saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Ferguson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. Marissa La Praim also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Tumwater's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Mark Morris, they pushed their record up to 27-2 with the win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.
