Firestone proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won five in a row.

Firestone wouldn't go down easily and took Villa Angela-St. Joseph into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-18, 19-25, 25-11, 15-8.

Elijah Myers paced Firestone's offense, picking up 23 kills. Myers got some help from Rohan Gould and his 35 assists. Myers was also solid from the service line: he led the team with nine aces.

Firestone's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Firestone will challenge St. Ignatius at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Villa Angela-St. Joseph has already played their next match (against Chardon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
