Softball Recap: Garfield Beats Bishop Blanchet for Their Third Straight Victory

Garfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 16-15 W against the Bishop Blanchet Bears. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by just one run.

Jordana King was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lissie Hogan, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

King wasn't the only one making solid contact: Garfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Garfield's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Bishop Blanchet, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Garfield will venture away from home to square off against Eastside Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.17 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bishop Blanchet, they will head out to take on Nathan Hale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
