East Lake had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Manatee Hurricanes get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Monday. Give the Eagles' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

East Lake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Melton and Sienna Zaccardo. Zaccardo has been hot, having also posted at least one defended passe the last seven times she's played. Melton got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

East Lake's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Manatee, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.

East Lake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-6 loss against East Bay on the 1st. Manatee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
