Itawamba Agricultural took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 67-66 win over the Lafayette Commodores. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 59-28 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Itawamba Agricultural's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Calon Shumpert, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ardarrius Garth, who posted 12 points and six assists.

Coming up, Itawamba Agricultural will head out to face off against Tupelo at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lafayette, they will square off against North Pontotoc at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
