Preview: Ben Eielson Ravens vs. Lathrop Malemutes
Ben Eielson has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Lathrop Malemutes at 7:30 p.m.
Last Saturday, Ben Eielson had to suffer through a rough 66-11 loss at the hands of West Valley.
Meanwhile, Lathrop's eight-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They blew past North Pole, posting a 65-38 victory at home. Lathrop's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Lathrop can attribute much of their success to Luke Skinner, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and five steals, and Deshon Hall, who scored 20 points along with six steals. Hall continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Atticus Foley was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Ben Eielson bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lathrop, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3.
Ben Eielson was taken down by Lathrop 83-37 when the teams last played back in January. Can Ben Eielson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
