Taft won the last time they faced Kennedy and Karsynn Owens did her part to make sure it happened again. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Thunderbirds on Thursday thanks in part to Owens, who had eight digs and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served four or more in each of the last three games she's played.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (94-93) Taft actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 18-25, 25-23.

Taft's win bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Kennedy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13-2 record this season.

Taft will welcome Shafter at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Generals will roll in looking for their 23rd straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kennedy, they will venture away from home to challenge Delano at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
