Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Tri-Valley

Tri-Valley won the last time they faced Lexington and things went their way on Monday too. The Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the Minutemen, sneaking past 15-13. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Tri-Valley let Paige Fesler and Maren Milton run wild. Fesler went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Milton went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two doubles gave Fesler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addie Phillips, who went 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tri-Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Tri-Valley's win bumped their record up to 12-2-1. As for Lexington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

Looking ahead, Tri-Valley will challenge Eureka at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lexington, they will square off against Prairie Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Minutemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
