Softball Recap: Canyon Ridge Takes a Loss

Canyon Ridge had lost 14 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it 15. They lost 15-3 to the Twin Falls Bruins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Riverhawks of the 16-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Canyon Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dani Toolson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Twin Falls, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games.

On Twin Falls' side, Molly Hodge was a standout: she fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Libby Torgrimson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

While Canyon Ridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
