Basketball Game Preview: Sylmar Spartans vs. Locke Saints

The Sylmar Spartans will square off against the Locke Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Sylmar is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Canoga Park 105-52. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Hunters recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Sylmar's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tim Tanner led the charge by going 10-for-21 to rack up 25 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The matchup was Tanner's third in a row with at least 18 points. Cymon Millhouse was another key player, going 7-for-10 en route to 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Sylmar was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Locke walked away with it. They blew past the Sentinels, posting an 85-24 victory. That 61 point margin sets a new team best for the Saints this season.

Locke's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Sylmar, their victory bumped their record up to 8-18.
