The West Lincoln Rebels will head out on the road to take on the East Gaston Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Lincoln is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.

West Lincoln took a seven-goal loss the last time they faced off against Kings Mountain, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rebels had just enough and edged out the Mountaineers 2-1 on Monday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but West Lincoln were the better team in the second half.

Alexandero Arredondo and Edwin Ramirez scored both of West Lincoln's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 36 goals.

Meanwhile, East Gaston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Lincolnton, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, East Gaston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 507th, while Lincolnton are ranked 213th).

West Lincoln pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matchups. As for East Gaston, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12-1.

Everything went West Lincoln's way against East Gaston in their previous meeting back in September, as West Lincoln made off with a 4-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
