There's no place like home for Egyptian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down the Shawnee Redskins 66-50 on Thursday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 73-68 victory back in December of 2024.

Egyptian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brandon Plott, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Mike Curry was another key player, going 7-for-16 en route to 17 points and three blocks.

Shawnee's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Mayberry, who posted 12 points and five blocks. The dominant performance gave Mayberry a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Gabe Ellet, who earned 13 points and three steals.

Egyptian's win bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Shawnee, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-23.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Egyptian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cobden at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Egyptian is facing Cobden at the right time seeing as Cobden is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Shawnee, they will challenge Pope County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
