Mineral Point is a perfect 10-0 against Darlington since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Pointers will be home for the holidays to greet the Redbirds at 7:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Mineral Point put up the most points they have all season on Thursday. They blew past Boscobel 63-41. With that victory, the Pointers brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.

Madalyn Kabat and Sadie Miller were among the main playmakers for Mineral Point as the former almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds and the latter went 6-for-10 en route to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Kabat is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Schultz, who posted eight points.
Mineral Point smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Darlington beat Fennimore 58-50 on Thursday. The Redbirds haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Darlington's win came from a few key players Mineral Point will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maddie Gratz, who shot 56% from the field on her way to 16 points along with six assists and five boards. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Sadie Goebel was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.
Darlington's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Mineral Point, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mineral Point has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Darlington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
